Terms of Use
The terms that govern your use of the IBANAPI website and API. Plain language where we can manage it, precise where it has to be.
Agreement to terms
These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you and ApisOS FZE, a United Arab Emirates free zone establishment operating IBANAPI ("we", "us", "our"), governing your access to and use of ibanapi.com, our API, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, calling the API, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a revision takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Eligibility and accounts
The Service is open to individual developers as well as companies, you don't need to represent a business to sign up. You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service. To access API features, you'll need to register for an account with an accurate name and email address, and choose a password you keep confidential. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account and API key.
You can view, regenerate and manage your API key at any time from your dashboard. For extra protection, you may optionally enable multi-factor authentication (MFA); once enabled, we'll only disable it on a request sent from your account's registered email address, to stop someone else from removing it on your behalf.
Tell us right away at [email protected] if you suspect your account or API key has been compromised. We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false registration information or show signs of fraud or abuse.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others;
- Attempt to bypass API key authentication, rate limits, or plan quotas;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract the underlying dataset to build a competing product;
- Share your API key publicly or resell raw API access without our written permission;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems;
- Use the Service to make decisions with legal, financial, or safety consequences without independent verification.
We may suspend API access without notice for use that we determine, in good faith, threatens the security, availability, or integrity of the Service for other customers.
Fees, credits and billing
A free plan is available with limited monthly usage. Paid plans grant a pool of credits consumed per API call, billed through our payment processor, Stripe. We don't store your full card number, Stripe handles and secures your payment details directly.
If you enable auto-renewal, we'll automatically charge your saved card and top up your credit balance once it drops below the plan's renewal threshold, using the card on file at the time. You can disable auto-renewal or update your saved card at any time from your profile. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
Data accuracy
We source IBAN, BIC and bank identifier data from central bank registries, the official SWIFT IBAN registry, manual reviews, and community contributions, and we work to keep it current, see our data sources page for details. That said, the Service is provided for informational and validation purposes only. A structurally valid IBAN does not guarantee an account is open, active, or held by any particular person. Always confirm payment details directly with the recipient before relying on the Service for a financial transaction.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and compiled datasets, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service in line with these Terms and your plan. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service or a feature of it. Where practical, we'll give notice first. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in full effect. We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
